Hi to both of you.
maybe some explanation in case you are confused. I have a French name but was born in Australia to a French father (Cognac area) and Greek mother who met on the boat from Europe after WW2. I can speak some French but not really read or write. I live in a suburb of Sydney, Hunters Hill on the harbour which has a strong French heritage and just happen to live in a street with a French name and own a French boat. Not planned, just the way it ended up
I was in France and England for 6 weeks last Xmas and called into the new Tofinou factory and had an enjoyable tour with Christian. I told Christian that I would be happy to take any potential customers in Sydney for a sail.
The boats are certainly a very classic looking boat but also fast and my wife and I get very positive comments from all who see us sailing.
I think that there might be 4 Tofinou 9.5 in Australia as follows;
- White Lightning, Sydney as well but on a different harbour called Pittwater north of Sydney.
- Jessandra owned by Peter Jamieson with sail no RQ888 so I assume boat is in Queensland as RQ is prefix for Royal Queensland yacht club. Info from TopYacht which is a web based listing of yachts that race.
- and possibly another one in Western Australia?
Attached is a photo of my wife Lynn in a very familiar place. She steers and I do the ropes!
